Why Smolderhalder Land and not Somerhalder Land?
Ian is well known for his smolder(which is a very intense stare - would be the best way to describe it), and it’s a very sexy look he does. The cast mates have even given him this nickname (in fact, you can hear Nina calling him this in her video here.)
Another fun tidbit, this is what the urban dictionary says:

1.sexy, talented, and warm-hearted Ian Somerhalder; best known for his role as Damon Salvatore

…and that’s why the blog’s name is Smolderhalder Land!
Who do you “ship” on TVD?
That doesn’t matter, because this is Ian’s blog and it’s not about ships. However, ships you are likely to see here are: Damon/Elena, Damon/Alaric, Damon/Stefan, Damon/Everyone… see the pattern here? :P
